Hello, I used my Musebook for some time as a little homeserver and therefore it was constantly plugged in. Eventually it seemed to stop charging which is of course a good thing while it is plugged in. But now that I unplugged it and the battery is drained, it refuses to start charging again. In Gnome settings it says Not charging and in the Power Statistics app it says Waiting to charge. I know from other devices that there can be charging limits in place somewhere in /sys/class/ but after looking for a while in /sys/class/power_supply/sbs-5-000b I couldn’t find anything. The battery only has 35 cycles and it tells me it is still at 100% health, so I doubt the battery is dead. Could someone help me with this issue please?
Charging is controlled by the EC. If the EC malfunctions, it may cause charging failures. You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to force a reset of the EC, which might resolve the issue.
It seems to be charging again after the battery was fully drained to the point where the device wasn’t even turning on. I assume this had the same effect as disconnecting the battery but I will try this too in case it happens again. Thank you.
